In his remarks , Mr. Segun Alao Aka-Bashorun, one of the sons of Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun saluted the efforts of Mr. Ogunlana and the RAMINBA team for their continuous remembrance of Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun, especially as leaders of Ikeja Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association. He recalled the virtues of contentment, sacrifice and integrity which characterised the life of his father, which he said he found missing in the life of most contemporary activists and Bar leaders, which made the Nigerian Bar Association to be a ghost of its radical history. He commended Mr. Ogunlana in whom he said he found similar characteristics of Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun.

Mr. Ogunlana, in his remarks extolled the radical legacy of Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun, whose leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association between 1987 and 1989  demonstrated what the Nigerian Bar Association should really stand for. He stated that he had decided to put himself forward to run for the Presidency of the Nigerian Bar Association on the basis of the need for the same type of leadership that Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun demonstrated especially now that Nigeria is confronted with a siege of lawlessness and attacks on democratic rights and living conditions, similar to the jackboot days of military rule.

In her speech , Mrs. Kudirat Alao Aka-Bashorun, the wife of Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun, who is now in her seventies commended the steadfastness of Mr. Ogunlana and the RAMINBA in  honouring the legacy of  late Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun, who made huge sacrifices to take the Nigerian Bar Association to greater heights. Mama recalled how Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun stood his ground to ensure the completion of the National Secretariat of the Nigerian Bar Association within the first year of his Presidency, which had been abandoned for over 25 years! She stated that Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun opted for a 15-year loan as against a 25-year loan for repayment of costs of the building and that upon his demise, exactly 15 years of completion of the loan repayment, the National Secretariat was named after him.

She  also recalled how the Babangida military regime set up an Investigative  Panel to investigate the building of the National Secretariat by Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun. Mama narrated that the Panel did not only discover that the National Secretariat was built without defrauding the Association but he also expended personal resources taken from Mama's shop to build the National Secretariat!

Mama commended the courage of Mr. Ogunlana, whom she said shared similar characteristics with Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun in terms of passion for struggle, self-sacrifice and simplicity  on his decision to run for NBA Presidency and prayed for his success in the forthcoming 2020 national polls in order to utilise the Mr.. Alao Aka-Bashorun therapy to salvage the health of the Association and Nigeria as a whole .

The RAMINBA took turns to take pictures with Mama  and Mr. Segun Alao Aka-Bashorun , after New Year giving gifts to Mama.
