In a statement issued by Ayo Ademiluyi, Secretary of Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association (RAMINBA) and Director of Media, Strategy, Publicity and Communications of RadicalBar2020, Mr. Ogunlana took to his popular Facebook wall, where he commented thus:
" I consider it neccessary now to draw the attention of all lawyers ,
particularly ardent supporters of our aspiration to the NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION 2020 PRESIDENCY to the pathetic online manipulation going on, on some group platforms with the sole objective of subtraneously influencing the voting pattern in the NBA 2020 GENERAL ELECTIONS in favour of preferred candidates of the organisers of spurious polls as well as cast such organisers as HEAVY WEIGHT INFLUENCERS to be courted, worshipped and rewarded by 'serious contenders' .
Let me say categorically that we here at RAMINBA ,are not moved by schemes of self ascribed influencers. We are the General Banquo of William Shakespeare's classic 'MACBETH' who told off the three witches that had so enormously impressed another General, Macbeth 'if indeed be you can see in to the seeds of time and say which will germinate or not, then tell me who neither FEAR you or CURRY your favour ' (this quotation is a rewording of the Shakespearean lines ) .
In the very first online poll that was known to the public, one Favour Njoku dared to claim that I , "SERUBAWON" OGUNLANA voted in the poll and that my vote went to a rival and went on to make ridiculous comments and assertions. In the face of the false claims of Njoku, the organiser kept mum . I now pointedly ask the organizer, popularly known as STEVE SUN to answer whether I participated in his polls and also whether that my vote went to a rival.
Let me say again, in this contest , we fear nobody . Yes, there are dangers and challenges within and without, including boasts and plans of preemptive steps already being taken to eliminate me from the contest courtesy of the ploy of the usual card of DIS-QUALIFICATION but I want to assure EVERYBODY , that I , OGUNLANA ADESINA ADEMOLA , by the grace of the MOST MERCIFUL,MOST BENEVOLENT, THE OMNIPOTENT AND ALMIGHTY GOD will contest in the 2020 NBA GENERAL ELECTIONS . Those who are planning my electoral elimination have not and cannot carry God along in their plans and have FAILED . Kindly take note all, of this ASSERTIONS that I have made this day Saturday 18th JANUARY 2020 in the Lord and in HIS name . I have said it before and I am saying it again, ' Let the Hawk fly , let the Eagle fly,which ever bird says the other should not fly , let the wings of such break !
May I respectfully at this juncture direct the cognition of all to the following salient facts
( a) it is the RAMINBA aspirant that has a salvationist/ interventionist agenda role for the NBA in favour of Nigeria and holds the greatest chances of bringjng back the glorious vibrance of the ALAO AKA-BASHORUN 1987-89 presidency
( b) The RAMINBA aspirant does not practise ' moneyteering ' politics and politicking' in any form.
(C) the RAMINBA aspirant tis the established , consistently social ACTIVIST figure, whose perspectives every other aspirant now copies or emulates
( d) i the RAMINBA aspirant is in the contest witb an IDEOLOGY and comes witb the RADICAL AGENDA
(e) even though all the aspirants are Lagos based practitioners , ithe RAMINBA aspirant played notable and publicly acknowledged roles in frustrating and defeating the infamous Land Use Charge Law 2018 of former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode even at heavy personal risks
( f) the RAMINBA aspirant is one candidates epitomising , COURAGE , FORTITUDE in the face of adversity and RESILIENCE
We urge our supporters to remain focused and stand resolute.Let your hearts shake not . Be wise to the wiles of smart alecs and manipulators It is a marathon.and .....WE SHALL OVERCOME.
