as a grand policy to  fleece the people and endanger  productivity.

RAMINBA ALERT AGAINST ONLINE MANIPULATION, MIS- INFORMATION , AND PROPAGANDA

Ogunlana Adesina Ademola , the Chairman of the Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association and  presidential aspirant with RadicalBar2020 has issued a stern warning against online gangsterism in the forthcoming 2020 national elections of the Nigerian Bar Association.

In a statement issued by Ayo Ademiluyi, Secretary of Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association (RAMINBA) and Director of Media, Strategy, Publicity and Communications of RadicalBar2020, Mr. Ogunlana took to his popular Facebook wall, where he commented thus:

"  I consider it neccessary now to draw the attention of all lawyers ,
particularly ardent supporters of our aspiration to the NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION 2020 PRESIDENCY to the pathetic online manipulation going on, on some group  platforms with the sole objective of subtraneously influencing the voting pattern in the NBA 2020 GENERAL ELECTIONS in favour of  preferred candidates of the organisers of spurious polls as well as cast such organisers as HEAVY WEIGHT  INFLUENCERS  to be courted, worshipped  and rewarded by 'serious  contenders' .

Let me say categorically that we here at RAMINBA ,are not moved by schemes of self ascribed influencers. We are the General Banquo of William Shakespeare's classic 'MACBETH' who told off the three witches that had so enormously impressed another General, Macbeth 'if indeed be you can see  in to the seeds of time and say which will germinate or not,  then tell me who neither FEAR you or CURRY your favour ' (this quotation is a rewording of the Shakespearean lines ) .

In the very first online  poll that was known to the public,  one Favour Njoku dared to claim that I , "SERUBAWON" OGUNLANA voted in the  poll and that my vote went to a rival and went on to make ridiculous comments and assertions. In the face of the false claims of Njoku,  the organiser kept mum . I now pointedly ask the organizer, popularly known  as STEVE SUN  to answer whether I participated in his polls  and also whether that my vote went to  a rival.

Let me say again, in this contest , we fear nobody . Yes,  there are dangers and challenges within and without, including boasts and plans of  preemptive steps already being taken to eliminate me from the contest  courtesy of the ploy of  the usual card of DIS-QUALIFICATION but I want to assure  EVERYBODY , that I , OGUNLANA ADESINA ADEMOLA , by the grace of the MOST MERCIFUL,MOST  BENEVOLENT, THE OMNIPOTENT AND ALMIGHTY GOD will contest in the 2020 NBA GENERAL ELECTIONS . Those who are planning my electoral  elimination have not and cannot carry God along in their plans and have FAILED . Kindly take note  all, of this ASSERTIONS that I have made this day Saturday 18th  JANUARY 2020  in the Lord and in HIS name . I have said it before and I am saying it again, ' Let the Hawk fly , let the Eagle  fly, which ever bird says the other should not fly , let the wings of such break !
May I respectfully at this juncture direct the cognition of all to the following  salient facts
( a) it is the RAMINBA aspirant that has a salvationist/ interventionist agenda role for the NBA in favour of Nigeria  and holds the greatest chances of bringjng back the glorious vibrance of the ALAO AKA-BASHORUN 1987-89  presidency
( b)  The RAMINBA aspirant  does not practise ' moneyteering ' politics and politicking' in any form.
(C) the RAMINBA aspirant tis the established , consistently social ACTIVIST  figure,  whose perspectives  every other aspirant now  copies or emulates
( d) i the RAMINBA aspirant is  in the contest witb an IDEOLOGY and comes witb the RADICAL AGENDA
(e)  even though all the aspirants  are Lagos based practitioners , ithe RAMINBA aspirant  played notable and publicly acknowledged roles in frustrating and defeating the infamous Land Use Charge Law 2018 of former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode even at heavy personal risks
( f) the RAMINBA aspirant is one candidates epitomising , COURAGE , FORTITUDE in the face of adversity and RESILIENCE
We urge our supporters to remain focused  and stand resolute.Let your hearts shake not . Be wise to the wiles of smart alecs and manipulators  It is a marathon.and .....WE SHALL OVERCOME.

OGUNLANA, RAMINBA Calls for Withdrawal of Charges against Joseph Odok Esq., Launches "OPERATION FREE JOSEPH ODOK"

Ogunlana Adesina Ademola , Chairman of Radical Agenda  Movement in the Nigerian Bar Movement (RAMINBA) and Presidential aspirant with RadicalBar2020 has called for withdrawal of the  charges against Joseph Odok, a legal practitioner and critic of Professor Ben Ayade , Governor of Cross Rivers State , who is being held at the Calabar Correctional Centre  for charges bodrering on terrorism,  for posting a Facebook comment on the Cross Rivers' State Governor.
Joseph Odok, an active lawyer and member of NBA, Calabar Branch

In a statement issued by Ayo Ademiluyi, the Secretary of Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association (RAMINBA) and Director of Media, Publicity, Strategy and Communications of #RadicalBar2020,
Mr. Joseph
Odok , a member of Calabar Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association  risks a death sentence if convicted for alleged acts of terrorism premised on a post credited to him on Facebook and remains remanded at the Medium Security Custodial Center in Calabar where he has spent 88 days so far.

Mr. Ogunlana took to his popular Facebook wall , where he commented thus:

"JOSEPH ODOK , AN ALBATROSS ON A GOVERNORS 'S NECK AND A CHALLENGE TO THE NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION

On 24th December 2019 , RAMINBA ,( RADICAL AGENDA MOVEMENT IN THE NBA ) sent a  team made up of  Ayo Ademiluyi (the Secretary) and I (as Chairman)  to Calabar Prisons to meet two political detainees there . The first is AGBA JALINGO , the second is JOSEPH ODOK , PhD .
Happier moments: Mrs. Cecilia Odok.and  Baby Odok await eagerly the release of breadwinner

Both men are critics of Benjamen Ayade , a Professor , the Governor of their Cross River State  and have been suffering  prolonged incarceration and  persecutorial trials for daring to question the Governor's financial integrity in governance .

While Agba Jalingo is a journalist, Dr Joseph  Odok ia legal practitioner .

Our RAMINBA team landed in Calabar on 25th December2019 and indeed met with the two men
Sadly, while the public is  aware of the travails of AGBA JALINGO,, only a few people relatively know about the suffering of the doctor of Law , Joseph Odok , as his case hardly ever front page news . In reality,  Joseph Odok has suffered  the  sting of hellish state persecution far longer than Agba Jalingo . Called to the Bar in 2006, Odok  , 42 years old , was forced out of his lecturer's job  at the University of Calabar in 2015  upon being marked down as an antagonist of the Governor of the state  and later forced to exile himself from Cross River  state after a close shave assasination attempt was made on him  by agents he claimed were of the Governor's . All attempts at adequate and proper  investigation and  prosecution of the dastard incident have been sytmied by state forces . In controversial and suspicious circumstances, Cecilia, his wife lost her job in Abuja at a federal institution  and so for quite a long time now, the Joseph Odok family has been in dire straits
Odok's case is another tragically  funny  one  of s Nigerian citizen alleging financial impropriety against a state Governor  being tried for treason and terrorism at a federal high court .! Just like the AGBA JALINGO'S CASE . . From interactions with Odok's wife, , it would appear that while the national leadership of the NBA is not (officially) aware of her husband's case , the local Branch of the NBA, in Calabar is not all that interested in rescuing her husband from the clutches of the powers that be in Cross River State .

RAMINBA launches OPERATION FREE JOSEPH ODOK

RAMINBA  is very keen in intervening in Dr Odok 's matter; including raising relief funds for his  distressed family  payable into the wife's account and participating cogently in the trial of the matter , said to be  coming up again ( bail) before Justice Amobeda of the FEDERAL HIGH COURT 2, CALABAR ON 21 January 2020 .

We humbly solicit the support of all Nigerian Lawyers in the great mission , OPERATION FREE DR JOSEPH ODOK . Details later ."

In a related development,
a Federal High Court sitting in Calabar, Cross River, on Friday adjourned the bail hearing for Joseph Odok, a lawyer charged with terrorism and cybercrime for criticising Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State until Tuesday, January 21 at the instance of the prosecution.

Justice Simon Amobeda, who presided over the matter, in his ruling granted the submission of the prosecution counsel, Dennis Tarhemba which referred the court to its rules that grant a party up to a week to join issues on any process filed.

Tarhemba, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, had failed to appear in court on Thursday with Justice Amobeda ruling that the defense counsel, Oliver Osang, will be allowed to move the motion for bail should the prosecutor be absent.

On Friday, Tarhemba submitted that his office received the process two days back (on Wednesday) and was yet to file a response due to the fact he had travelled and returned on Thursday.

“We filed the motion on Wednesday and served them that same day,” Osang told journalists.

He further averred that, “We will wait for them to join issues and see what they come up with by the next court date.”

Odok risks a death sentence if convicted for alleged acts of terrorism premised on a post credited to him on Facebook and remains remanded at the Medium Security Custodial Center in Calabar where he has spent 88 days so far.

He was arrested at his Abuja residence on September 26, 2019 and endured what family members say was a tortuous journey by road to Calabar where he was then detained at a black site facility.

He spent seven days in the facility before the police approached the Calabar division of the Federal High Court seeking an order to detain him for 90 days on October 4, 2019.

The prosecution counsel, Tarhemba, said the order will aid the police to travel with the defendant within and outside the jurisdiction of the court to retrieve items that will aid their case.

According to the application, Odok was charged with criminal conspiracy, rape, treasonable felony, terrorism and obtaining money under false pretenses.

Justice Amobeda in his ruling granted 45 days with an option for renewal.

However, 10 days later on October 14, the police filed two charges against Odok bordering on terrorism and cyberstalking.

Justice Amobeda in his ruling of December 16, 2019 refused admitting Odok to bail on the grounds that the defense had not shown exceptional circumstances to warrant the court to exercise its discretion.

Mr. Ogunlana has further assured members of the Nigerian Bar Association that if entrusted  with the prime Leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Association will stand with its members facing victimisation from any organ or section of Government .

OGUNLANA GRACES 1ST OLUWASEYI OJO MEMORIAL LECTURE IN ADO-EKITI, RE-ECHOES RADICAL AGENDA

Mr . Ogunlana Adesina Ademola, the Chairman of the Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association and presidential aspirant in the forthcoming 2020 national elections graced the First Memorial Lecture held on 9th December, 2020  in honour of Oluseyi Gabrielle Ojo , the Ekiti State Chairperson of FIDA (Federacion Internationales Des Abrogadas) who passed on the 25th December, 2019.

In a statement issued by Ayo Ademiluyi, the Secretary of Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association (RAMINBA) and Director of Media,  Strategy, Publicity and Communications of ProgressiveBar2020, Mr. Ogunlana while condoling with FIDA Ekiti State, Nigerian Bar Association, Ado-Ekiti and the family, used the opportunity to re-echo his RadicalAgenda to the Nigerian Bar Association by commenting from the high table after the delivery of the two lectures  thus:

" The Chairman of this occasion,  the chairman of the NBA ADO EKITI branch, our leaders and seniors , I greet you all.  I thank the two speakers today. But I  want  to comment on the second paper. I am very happy that I made this journey here today, all the way from Lagos. Before her death, I didn't know much about Seyi Ojo  but I 'm happy that I  as an activist  came down for the programme of an activist. I resonate with all what what I heard about Seyi Ojo from the second presenter today. I stand and represent the  RADICAL AGENDA MOVEMENT IN THE NBA.  We all need such almost lunatic commitment to causes if this country is to be saved .

With Mr. Obafemi Adewale, NBA Gen. Sec:90-92

We all here mostly are lawyers but we need to to realise that we need urgent and committed reactions to save our country.  At the SPIDEL Conference, I said people talking about public interest litigation are assuming two  things, one, that the courts are working and two, that the orders of courts are obeyed.  But that is not  too  true of our reality.....Nigeria is a semi jungle and we need to be as passionate and committed like Seyi to redeem her . Ha, gentlemen, somebody handled 133 cases in six  months. Please clap for Seyi !
And I disagree with those who think that Seyi is not here present with us.  She is. Those who say otherwise  are not conversant with African Cosmogony . Thank you for your kind attention."
With Mr. Owoseni Ajayi, fmr Att. Gen. Ekiti State

It would be recalled that Mr. Ogunlana had earlier paid a condolence visit to FIDA Ekiti State, a day after the demise of Seyi Ojo . His presence at the Memorial Lecture held by FIDA Ekiti State in honour of the departed was well received by FIDA Ekiti State.
Mr. Ogunlana & Mr. Falade, NBA Ado-Ekiti Branch Chairman

His RadicalAgenda message was also well received by members of FIDA Ekiti State, leaders and members of branches of the Nigerian Bar Association in Ekiti and Ondo State including but not limited to Ado-Ekiti, Ikole-Ekiti, Ikere-Ekiti, Akure, Ondo branches who took turns to take pictures with him.

Ogunlana with Mrs. Kudirat Aka-Bashorun

In his remarks , Mr. Segun Alao Aka-Bashorun, one of the sons of Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun saluted the efforts of Mr. Ogunlana and the RAMINBA team for their continuous remembrance of Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun, especially as leaders of Ikeja Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association. He recalled the virtues of contentment, sacrifice and integrity which characterised the life of his father, which he said he found missing in the life of most contemporary activists and Bar leaders, which made the Nigerian Bar Association to be a ghost of its radical history. He commended Mr. Ogunlana in whom he said he found similar characteristics of Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun.

Mr. Ogunlana, in his remarks extolled the radical legacy of Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun, whose leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association between 1987 and 1989  demonstrated what the Nigerian Bar Association should really stand for. He stated that he had decided to put himself forward to run for the Presidency of the Nigerian Bar Association on the basis of the need for the same type of leadership that Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun demonstrated especially now that Nigeria is confronted with a siege of lawlessness and attacks on democratic rights and living conditions, similar to the jackboot days of military rule.
R-L: Ayo Ademiluyi Esq., Lateef Abdulsalam Esq., Seun Aromoloran Esq.,Ogunlana Esq, Mrs. Kudirat Alao Aka-Bashorun, Dare Akande Esq., and Mr. Segun Alao Aka-Bashorun.

In her speech , Mrs. Kudirat Alao Aka-Bashorun, the wife of Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun, who is now in her seventies commended the steadfastness of Mr. Ogunlana and the RAMINBA in  honouring the legacy of  late Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun, who made huge sacrifices to take the Nigerian Bar Association to greater heights. Mama recalled how Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun stood his ground to ensure the completion of the National Secretariat of the Nigerian Bar Association within the first year of his Presidency, which had been abandoned for over 25 years! She stated that Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun opted for a 15-year loan as against a 25-year loan for repayment of costs of the building and that upon his demise, exactly 15 years of completion of the loan repayment, the National Secretariat was named after him.

She  also recalled how the Babangida military regime set up an Investigative  Panel to investigate the building of the National Secretariat by Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun. Mama narrated that the Panel did not only discover that the National Secretariat was built without defrauding the Association but he also expended personal resources taken from Mama's shop to build the National Secretariat!

Mama commended the courage of Mr. Ogunlana, whom she said shared similar characteristics with Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun in terms of passion for struggle, self-sacrifice and simplicity  on his decision to run for NBA Presidency and prayed for his success in the forthcoming 2020 national polls in order to utilise the Mr.. Alao Aka-Bashorun therapy to salvage the health of the Association and Nigeria as a whole .

The RAMINBA took turns to take pictures with Mama  and Mr. Segun Alao Aka-Bashorun , after New Year giving gifts to Mama.

OGUNLANA CONFIRMS NBA PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRATION DESPITE EGBE AMOFIN YORUBA'S ADOPTION OF PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

Ogunlana Adesina Ademola, the Chairman of the Radical Agenda Movement  in the Nigerian Bar Association and presidential aspirant in the forthcoming 2020 national elections of the Nigerian Bar Association has confirmed his presidential aspiration in spite of the adoption of Mr. Dele Adesina SAN by the Egbe Amofin Yoruba as flag bearer of the ethnic irrendentist group.
Adesina Ogunlana

This was made known in a press statement issued by Ayo Ademiluyi, Secretary of Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association (RAMINBA) and Director of Media, Strategy,  Publicity
and Communications of ProgressiveBar2020.

Mr. Ogunlana took to his popular Facebook wall, where he commented thus:

"I understand that yesterday, Saturday , the 14th December 2019, a group of legal practitioners in  South West Nigeria known as the EGBE AMOFIN, held  a meeting  at Ibadan, where the group adopted one of those of us aspiring to lead  the NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION in 2020 as Presidential flagbearer.

May I congratulate the Egbe Amofin. May I also congratulate their choice, gentle man Dele Adesina, SAN who obviously mirrors their political perspectives, tendencies and  inclinations. Fortunately , Democracy professes and thrives on  electoral  choices and preferences in a free and fair, level playing ground.

Thus as the Egbe Amofin is entitled to propose and project a CHOICE, other bodies are so equally entitled.

May I then use the opportunity to reiterate the fact that my humble self , OGUNLANA ADESINA ADEMOLA , immediate past chairman, NBA IKEJA BRANCH and Publisher of the SQUIB MAGAZINE  is still very much in the race for the NBA  Presidency.

My aspiration is on the activist platform of the RADICAL AGENDA MOVEMENT  IN THE NBA (RAMINBA)
Our position  and  proposition in this quest is anchored on the identification of our great Association as a most important factor in the crucial, critical  labour  of saving Nigeria from socio-political and economic ruin and effectively press the NBA to this great service, in the infallible  view that 'NO NIGERIA, NO NBA.

Except the NBA  urgently and courageously rises to her historic and patriotic  salvationist duty  of  intervening in the affairs of Nigeria , our country, our profession, already imperilled , shall be lost !

I respectfully call on all candidates and our respective support platforms   to prosecute our  aspirations with all sense of responsibility, fairness and decency. Monopoly of any sort is not Democracy'

As the Igbo proverb goes....'Let the Eagle fly, let the Hawk fly, the one which says the other should not  explore the skies, let its wings break.'

CALL TO BAR: ADESINA OGUNLANA URGES NEW WIGS TO EMBRACE RADICAL AGENDA FOR A VIBRANT NBA AND SALVATION OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION

Mr. Adesina Ogunlana, the former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association and presidential aspirant in the forthcoming 2020 national elections of the Nigerian Bar Association has welcomed the new wigs who are being enrolled into the legal profession through the ongoing Call to Bar Ceremony to embrace his Radica lAgenda for the purposes of revamping the Nigerian Bar Association and salvation of the legal profession.

This was made known in a press statement issued by Ayo Ademiluyi, Director of Media, Publicity, Strategy and Communications of ProgressiveBar2020.

Mr. Ogunlana took to his popular Facebook wall to comment thus:

"Just about now , nearly 5000 lawyers have been released to the labour market , after about 18 years of education and training  and at huge personal and financial costs . But what really are their chances in the bloated labour market  in a beleaguered and horrible economy  and much fouled up socio-political space. Over the years, the political controllers of the nation have consistently acted against the larger interests of our country, raping and looting it and making it good only for themselves, families and cronies while millions of the  masses, who are victims  of their WICKEDNESS and  IRRESPONSIBILITY look on helplessly and in slavish acceptance ..

This is the major and critical ERROR of the suffering masses  ....Except we wake up and challenge the ESTABLISHMENT, politicians and authorities will continue making our lives a hell....and Lawyers must lead the change in this regard .......the reason for the coming of the RADICAL AGENDA, which we represent and indeed profess as against the USUAL AGENDA  in the NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION. No bones about this, no apologies, no cause for alarm except for the ESTABLISHMENT and their MINIONS. Look at  our direction, the direction of the RADICAL AGENDA . Lets go for it together, get it together and RUN it together . It's doable, VERY, VERY DOABLE.

My name remains Adesina Ogunlana ....Radically Yours . Thank You...
